Don’t Get Caught Without the Right Insurance! As a party rental business owner, it’s important to have the right insurance coverage. But what types of insurance should you be looking for? Liability insurance, inland marine insurance, workers comp insurance, cyber security insurance and commercial auto insurance are all different kinds of policies that could protect your business from unexpected losses. In this article, we’ll take a deeper dive into why each type of policy matters and how they differ from one another.
Liability Insurance
Liability insurance provides financial protection in the event that someone sues your business because of an injury or damage caused by your products or services (like a child injuring themselves while jumping in an inflatable which is more common than you think). This type of policy can also provide protection if you are held liable for any legal costs associated with defending yourself against such claims. Some customers (such as parks and schools) will require you to provide a certificate of insurance (COI) before they agree to do business with you. Make sure that your insurance policy includes the production of COI’s as some policies have a separate fee for every COI you request. It’s important to note that liability insurance does not cover any physical damage to property or vehicles; for that, you’ll need another type of policy. COI
Inland Marine Insurance
Inland marine insurance is a specific type of policy designed to cover property in transit or stored offsite. This includes items like computers, furniture, inventory items (like inflatables and tents), and other valuable possessions related to your business. If any of these items are damaged while being moved or stored offsite (e.g., in a warehouse), inland marine insurance will protect you financially against losses due to theft, fire, flood and other disasters.
Workers Comp
Workers compensation insurance can be a real lifesaver if you’ve had a workplace mishap. Whether an employee injures themselves while delivering equipment, gets hit with a loose tent pole, or even more seriously injured yourself while on the job, workers compensation will make sure that you get back on your feet from those unfortunate accidents and incidents. It’s the employer’s way of showing some love for their staff – the medical, physical and financial support needed to help get you through any bumps and bruises can all be covered by workers compensation insurance so it pays to keep it in mind before something does go wrong!
Cyber Security Insurance
Cyber security insurance provides coverage for losses related to data breaches and other cybersecurity threats such as malware attacks and phishing scams. This type of policy can help protect your business from financial losses associated with stolen customer information, lost data or intellectual property, ransomware attacks and more. Cyber security policies generally also offer coverage for legal fees related to defending against lawsuits resulting from such incidents as well as public relations costs associated with damage control efforts after a breach has occurred.
Auto Insurance
Commercial auto insurance covers vehicles used for business purposes such as delivery trucks or company cars owned by the business itself rather than individual employees who drive them on behalf of their employer. Different states have different requirements regarding auto liability coverage but most policies offer similar protections in terms of bodily injury liability (which covers medical expenses if someone is injured while driving) and property damage liability (which covers repair costs if someone causes an accident). Depending on the state where your business operates and the nature of its activities, additional types of commercial auto coverage may be necessary—for example comprehensive coverage which covers non-accident related damages like vandalism or theft—so it’s important to consult with an experienced broker before selecting a policy.
